Loretta Lamont: My father was a very robust man. He was 92-years-old at the time, and don't let the number fool you because my father was very much alive and well. My dad was on no medication, no blood pressure, nothing - my father had nothing wrong with him. So when he didn't feel good, we got concerned. We took him to the doctor, they sent us into Boston to some specialists, and low and behold, it came out that he had mesothelioma. My father fought, he really did, until the day the doctors told him it was just too far and there was nothing they could do for him. He gave up and was gone within 3-4 months. It was a tough thing to watch, seeing my dad so sick and to give up because that was not my father - he gave up on nothing. We firmly believe that my dad would have lived to be 100.
My older brother was watching T.V. one night, and he said he saw an advertisement for Bailey Cowan Heckaman PLLC for mesothelioma. So he thought he would look into it - we felt we owed it to my father. He worked his whole life and to have to pass away that way, it was pretty tough.
They've been very, very helpful through the whole thing. I couldn't recommend any firm better than Bailey Peavy Bailey. Whenever we had questions, they were always available - we could call at any time and speak to them. I think they work totally for the family, for their clients - understanding what the family is going through.
