Jury Trial Demanded in Mesothelioma Case

Attorney Alina Gregory has demanded a jury trial on behalf of plaintiffs Kenneth and Patricia Johnson. According to the complaint filed in the South Carolina Court of Common Pleas for the Fifth Judicial Circuit in the County of Richland, Kenneth Johnson was diagnosed with mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure.

The exposure, as noted in the complaint, was the direct result of Mr. Johnson and his wife’s work with and around asbestos-containing products. While he was directly exposed to the toxic substance, he also experienced secondary exposure when his wife came home with asbestos dust and fibers on her clothing.

Damages sought in the personal injury lawsuit include compensation for medical, surgical, and hospital bills, as well as pain and suffering. In addition, the complaint requests compensation for the plaintiffs’ loss of income or earnings and loss of care, comfort, and society. Finally, punitive damages are sought due to the actions of the defendants.
