Attendees will receive a link to Friday’s live streaming “Asbestos: Art, Advocacy, and Action Festival.” The festival will feature artists, presenters, and advocates from across the globe. It will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm ET on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Saturday’s academic conference will highlight a diverse group of speakers dedicated to bringing awareness about the dangers of asbestos. The conference will be live-streamed from Emory University Conference Center. It will take place from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm ET.
On September 26, 2022, an American flag will be flown atop the U.S. Capitol building in honor of Mesothelioma Awareness Day. For the past six years, the flag has adorned Capitol Hill in an effort to recognize asbestos victims and their families.
The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing awareness about asbestos and promoting asbestos-caused disease prevention. Founded in 2004, the organization is frequently asked to speak to Congress about the dangers of asbestos exposure. Their goal is to “eliminate asbestos-related diseases, including mesothelioma.”
